The 1968 Memphis Sanitation Workers strike and near daily protests reached the ears of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, and he came to lead a massive protest. Vastly larger than previous protests, this one quickly broke out into disarray, leading Dr. King and his team to evacuate to safety. This photo captures the remains of that chaotic march on Beale St.
