The Story Behind the Legacy

Dr. King’s final dream was the Poor People’s Campaign — a fight for economic justice across America. Though he never lived to see the march from Marks, MS (the poorest county in the nation) to the Mall of Washington DC, his team carried it to completion. The covered wagons they used symbolized the plight of the disenfranchised poor.
